Questions Families Often Ask

Is Synergy a private school?

No. Synergy's three schools are tuition-free public charter schools. There are no fees or tuition to attend.

Who can attend Synergy?

Synergy is open to all students. We do not screen or select students based on grades, test scores, background, or special education eligibility. We serve all students, including student with IEPs and English Learners.

Do I have to live in a particular neighborhood to apply?
No. All students in California may apply to Synergy's schools. However, there are preferences in our lotteries for students who live nearby and within the LAUSD boundaries.

What grades does Synergy serve?

Synergy serves students from transitional kindergarten (4-year-olds) all the way through 12th grade across three schools:

TK-5: Synergy Charter Academy elementary

6-8: Synergy Kinetic Academy middle school

9-12: Synergy Quantum Academy high school

What makes Synergy different?

Synergy combines rigorous academics and a strong STEM focus with something equally important: personal attention.

We want every student to be challenges, supported, and known. At Synergy, you're not just a number.

Does applying guarantee my child a space?

No. If more students apply than there are spaces available, admission will be determined through a public random lottery. Families may also apply after the lottery deadline. If a grade is full, students will be placed on a waitlist.

How do I apply?
Synergy uses SchoolMint, an online application system. Parents can create an account, select the Synergy school for your child's grade level, and complete the application. You'll receive confirmation that your application has been received and can use SchoolMint to check its status. Paper applications are also available.
