Financial Aid Information

Seniors attending a Community College or any four-year Institution (CSU, UC, Private) who want to be eligible for financial aid, must apply for FAFSA or California Dream Application during the month of January and February of 2015.

Deadline is March 2nd, 2015

Cal Grants (Cash for College!)
Cal Grants are one of the smartest ways to get cash for college! You must apply by March 2nd and must have also submitted the FAFSA or California Dream Application. GPA's will be submitted for all senior students. 

Important Information for AB 540 Students
AB 540 students are students who 
  • Attend a CA. high school for at least 3 years.
  • Graduate from a CA. high school or obtain GED.
  • Attend a California college or university
  • Complete an affidavit to legalize immigration status as soon as student is eligible.
AB 540 students may also be considered as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students.
Although a Social Security Number has been issued, it is only for work purposes. 

AB 540 students will apply to the California Dream Act Application in order to be considered for financial aid. AB 540 students do not submit the FAFSA as they are not eligible for federal financial aid. 

Important Information for AB 540 Students

Males 18-25 must register with Selective Service to be eligible for Cal Grant and other state aid. Obtain a registration form at the U.S. Post Office.

Middle Class Scholarship for UC's and CSU's
  • The Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) is a new program beginning in the 2014-15 academic year that provides undergraduate students with family incomes up to $150,000 a scholarship to attend University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) campuses.
  • Be a California resident attending a UC or CSU; be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or have AB 540* student status; meet certain income and other financial aid standards; maintain satisfactory academic progress; not be in default on a student loan; and, must not be incarcerated.
  • Apply for FAFSA starting January 1st, 2014.
