Placement Tests: ELM/EPT for the CSU's

The California State University (CSU) requires you to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam prior to enrollment in the CSU unless you are exempt by means of scores earned on other appropriate tests.

Upcoming Test Dates at CSU Los Angeles:

May 2nd, 2015- Registration Deadline is Apr. 18th, 2015

Quick Guide to College Applications: AB 540 and DACA Students

When completing your CSU college application, leave the Social Security Number (SSN) blank. 
When asked about citizenship status, answer none of the above.
Make sure to answer all questions about when your stay in California began. 
Complete the California Non-Resident Tuition Exemption Request Form
After graduation, submit your official high school transcript.

Males 18-25 must register with Selective Service to be eligible for Cal Grant and other state aid. Obtain a registration form at the U.S. Post Office.

UC Personal Statement Prompts:

Prompt #1 Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Prompt #2 Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

The UC Application is due November 30th, 2015.  

Private and Out of State College Apps

Most private college applications are on the Common Application:
You can apply to Privates through the Common Application. The Common Application includes 1 essay of a maximum of 650 words.

Deadlines to submit vary by school: Dec. 1st, Jan. 1st and Jan. 15th.
