Synergy Academies (Synergy) is a non-profit charter school operator whose mission is to create and share solutions that eliminate the achievement gap. Synergy currently operates three public charter schools in South Los Angeles: Synergy Charter Academy elementary school, Synergy Kinetic Academy middle school, and Synergy Quantum Academy high school. Synergy's schools deliver a free public education that focuses on the development of strong foundational reading and math skills, which leads to success in other subjects.  Synergy's schools are also STEM-focused, which means they are dedicated toward empowering their students to pursue a college degree or career in science, technology, engineering, or math.

In 2004, Synergy Academies opened its first school, Synergy Charter Academy, in one of the lowest performing areas of South Los Angeles and over the past eight years, Synergy's elementary school students have thrived. From 2005 through 2013, Synergy's Academic Performance Index (API) score increased from 709 to 907 based on state standardized tests, and as a result, Synergy's South LA elementary school students are now outperforming students in communities such as Brentwood and Beverly Hills. In 2010, the U.S. Department of Education named Synergy Charter Academy a winner of a National Blue Ribbon Award. This is the highest honor that an American public school can earn, and Synergy Charter Academy is the first and only elementary school in the history of South Los Angeles to win this award. In 2013, Synergy Charter Academy was named the Best Urban Elementary School in America by the National Center for Urban School Transformation, and the #1 charter elementary school in California by the USC School Performance Dashboard. In 2008, Synergy Kinetic Academy opened to help meet the needs of middle school students. While schools less than a mile away have not yet reached 700 on the API, Synergy Kinetic Academy exceeded 700 after its first year of operation.  In 2013, the school obtained a 784 API, which places Synergy Kinetic Academy as the highest-performing, fully-implemented 6-8th grade middle school in all of South Los Angeles for the past three years. Synergy Quantum Academy high school opened in 2011, and it teaches a standards-based, college-preparatory curriculum with an emphasis on STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math). Synergy Quantum Academy is the only school in South LA that requires its students to complete a minimum of one engineering course in order to graduate. Starting in 2013-14, Synergy Quantum Academy began offering an Introduction to Computer Science course in which students learn how to program.
